Mini Session FAQs

How do I book a Mini Session?

Newsletter subscribers will receive an email when Mini Session dates are released in the Spring (Feb/March) and Fall (August) and will have first choice on dates and times one day before the general public/social media.

What is included in a mini session?

Mini Sessions include 20 minutes of coverage at one designated location, 15 hi-res edited (color corrected) images via digital download, up to 4 immediate family members ($25/per additional person – up to 6 people), and a private online gallery to share with family and friends.

For families with more than 6 immediate family members or extended family sessions, a full session would work best. Full sessions allow for more time, flexibility on dates and a variety of locations to choose from. Email me for details and available dates.

What is the payment schedule?

Full payment is due at the time of booking to reserve your date and time slot. Payment must be received within 20 minutes of scheduling your session. After 20 minutes, your time slot will be released. Once payment is received, your session is booked and secured for your date and time slot and an email confirmation will be sent. Mini Sessions are non-refundable due to limited availability, however, may be transferable to another available date and time slot if rescheduled within 24 hours.

What can these sessions be used for?

These sessions are great for individuals, couples, anniversaries, families, maternity, or anything you can think of. (There is a limit of 6 people per Mini Session).

When will my images be available?

My goal is to send your gallery of images within 12–14 days of your session date. If you need your images sooner, expedited editing for turnaround time of 3 business days will be $100.

Do we get to choose our 15 images from our session?

Yes! I will provide a beautiful gallery of more than 15 images from which to choose. You will have the option to select your favorites and the option of purchasing more images and/or your entire gallery.

How will we receive our images?

I will send out an email with a link to your private gallery. Once you choose your favorite images, I will send another link for you to download the high resolution jpegs.

What if it rains on our mini session day?

I will offer to reschedule, shoot in the rain, or you may use your Mini Session credit toward a future booking for a Mini Session or a full Family Session (credit expires after one year).

What do you recommend we wear?

Your outfits are always the most important thing to consider. I always recommend feeling comfortable, beautiful, and yourselves in whatever you choose to wear. Simple, neutral clothing photograph best. Coordinating colors and patterns is a great way to make your photos stand out rather than matching outfits. For example, patterns should have different scales – if one is in a medium size pattern, then the other should be in small print or a solid. Your look/style should look good together and complement each other.

What should we bring to our session?

Please leave bags and what you don't need for our session at home or in the car. If you have children under 2 years old, feel free to bring a small neutral solid color throw/blanket for them to sit on. For children of all ages, please bring their favorite crackers/snack.

Where do you recommend that we get our images printed?

I offer an online gallery where you are able to purchase professional prints. I try to make buying high quality and color accurate prints easy and simple. If you are looking for holiday cards or something more specific to your needs, I have partnered with minted.com for cards. Clients also receive an exclusive discount!

Are pets allowed during our session?

Unfortunately, due to our limited time and location restrictions, pets are only allowed during full family sessions.
